Quick Tip : About Quick Mask Mode in Photoshop

Quick Tip : About Quick Mask Mode in Photoshop

How to Soften Skin Tones with High Pass in Photoshop

Photoshop Quick Mask Mode is an amazing button at the bottom of the tool bar.

You can select any parts of image with an easier way to delete or enhance them by using Quick Mask in Photoshop.

How to use it! Take this mode by clicking the quick mask button or hitting the Q on your keyboard.

Now choose Brush Tool or you can press Shift+B on your keyboard again and again until it comes, set your brush size and hardness 90% or at your convenience, If you choose a brush 100% hardness then It'll have a sharp edge. On the other side, 0% hardness you'll see it "Fade Out" as it goes on. Finally set foreground color black, because with brush tool, it allows the mask to an area. If you set foreground color white, then you are going to erase the mask from an area. So, you need to set foreground color black and start painting away like below...

If you want to edit this mask, then you can do it by brush, painting or any selecting tools.  See below, I've edited or deleted the mask red circle identified during Quick Mask Mode. Here I used to take Eraser Tool and see my foreground color is black

You can also edit or add mask by Eraser Tool, just need to set foreground color white, when you want to add mask by eraser tool. See below. Here, I've edited or add mask white line identified during Quick Mask Mode.

Finally when you are finished your mask, then returned to the normal mode to click on the Quick Mask Button again or press Q on your keyboard.

What are you going to see above! a selection marquee, that means appeared a moving dotted line, huh! Here, the area selected is all of the picture that you didn't mask and you don't want to remove it. So, you need to inverse the section area. How! Go to Select > Inverse or press Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+I

Finally delete it for using another color or background.

Note : As a photo editor, I know that, how much essential Quick Mask Mode is! Most of the editors used to take this mode to check their selection during clipping path via Pen Tool or others to get perfect result

You can change Quick Mask Mode Color red to different. Click twice on the quick mask mode button, it'll show up a pop-up box called "Quick Mask Options"

Photoshop High Pass Filter used to take for sharpening as well, but there is another use of this filter for softening skin tones. I know there are some filters to soften skin tones such as blur, surface blur etc. But you can take this filter beside them.  In this Quick Tip, I'll show you how to do that.

Step 8 :  Finally, paint over the eyes, lips, hair and unwanted area with the Eraser Tool to sharp them, Because I don't want to take them softness due to the perfect look. When you are going to paint, you can adjust the eraser size with square brackets "[ ]"  at your convenience.

How to Achieve Pixel Perfection From Vector Shapes in Photoshop

How to Achieve Pixel Perfection From Vector Shapes in Photoshop

photoshop quick tip how to achieve pixel perfection

A good and easy trick to achieve pixel perfection in Photoshop. The reason that it needs a clean vector shape without unwanted anti-aliasing.  As a designer, when I create any kind of design, Photoshop and Illustrator are my favorite tools to discover something special. In this regard, sometimes I used to take both tools together, I mean need to add vector shapes in Photoshop such as logo, icon etc. but I've seen a common issue that, when I take them from illustrator to Photoshop and zoom in, faded their pixels. In this tutorial, I'll show you how to solve this issue to get exactly the shape you are looking for.

First. I'm here to choose a logo from Illustrator CC that I want to use in Photoshop CC.

Now copy and pest it on Photoshop.

Pixel Perfection

We see a dialog box that asks us, how we want to paste it in our vector shape. Tick on Shape Layer and OK .

If you want to see your issue, then zoom in a little bit closer here.. Here I zoomed 600 pix at my convenience .

See the issues in red boxes, This is unwanted anti-aliasing or feathering what I'm going to solve now.

Go to Edit>Preferences>General : Uncheck Snap Vector Tools and Transforms to Pixel Grid  Then OK . See below.

Now choose Direct Selection Tool from tool bar or press Shift+A on your keyboard to select anchor points like below.

Finally, move them to up or down to clean this jagged edges.

 Result :

Note: Here you just able to fix the vector shape, horizontally and vertically that has a sharp clean edge.

Photoshop Brushes : Social Media Icons

photoshop-brushes-social-media-icons

Hello friends! You know, Brushes can save your time when you are going to design something. So, today I've rounded up a common brush set that is called social media icons brush. When you are going to think, you need a social media icon no matter what color is it, then I've to suggest you to take this brush, Because Photoshop brush do not contain color information, a brush can only contain one color from the foreground/background color settings.

Below you can find three types of social media icon brushes. Circle Icons Brush, Square Icons Brush and Rounded Icons Brush.
